Development began on bCODE in 2004 as a result of discussions with ticket-issuing companies for the delivery of mobile ticketing as a barcode or QR code image.
Because barcode and QR code require data enabled mobiles, the feedback at the time was “if mobile ticketing cannot be delivered to every customer, we are not interested.” Shortly thereafter, the idea was conceived to deliver a code via a function that every mobile phone has, Short Messaging Service or SMS.
Over the past decade, bCODE mobile technology has continued to evolve, but one constant remains: the ability to scan every phone on the planet.
